Hey guys, bad news. Unfortunately, due to TheStream.tv losing it’s sponsorship, they have put their productions (including ours) on hold indefinitely until things are sorted out. I’m not one to do things just for the sake of doing them and have considered other venues, but I feel it’s better to not make any hasty decisions and just wait and see how things out. Just like when someone lands an Ultra on you and you’re close to death, you don’t mash Uppercut on wakeup just because they’re close to you. 
So sit tight, there’s lots of stuff on the backburner and I apologize if you were really looking forward to Saturday as I was. Thanks to everyone who has been supportive, this really came out of nowhere, but it’s nice to see that people were as disappointed as I am about this turn of events.
Here are most of the matches from the LA Riots III Qualifier #1 event we had on Monday at Family Fun Arcade. The rules were simple:
- Beat one of the Gatekeepers and get into the Losers Bracket
- Beat both of the Gatekeepers and get into the Winners Bracket
The only players to beat both were OnlineTony213 and Hugo101. Here are videos of both:

Glenn from Get Your Tournament has a great recap on yesterday’s qualifier at FFA where Justin Wong and Mike Ross qualified for LA Riots III on March 6th. There is also a short podcast with Mike!
FTA:
Justin went 4-0 in the tournament, but the only time he swept a match (plus-4) was in the finals against Mike. And oh my goodness, I hope you all get to see the video where somehow Justin busts out an ultra a split second after Mike does a torpedo, from close range. This wasn’t an across-the-screen move; it was almost point blank.
Also, he has a great breakdown of how many games were won/lost by Gatekeepers Keno and Mike Ross. Thanks for an awesome recap Glenn!

Pre-registration starts today at 12PM PST for the LA Riots III Qualifier TOMORROW at Family Fun Arcade in Granada Hills at 1PM. Everyone who pre-registers gets Street Fighter 4 Secrets Volume II featuring Arturo Sanchez as a special bonus. If you wait until tomorrow to show up and register, there may not be any spots available!
If you haven’t read the rules already, please do so here. I believe I have created a fair and efficient system, where the best players are rewarded for their skill and recent wins, but it’s fairly complex so please read it!
LA Riots III will be held Saturday March 6th, so if you get 1st or 2nd place, you’re invited to go up against Top 4 from LA Riots II:
- Alex Valle (Ryu)
- Shizza (Chun Li)
- Ken I (Rufus)
- Kai (El Fuerte)
Prizes
1st Place: LA Riots III invitation & special guest on [GTFO.tv] on Monday night at 10PM and +10 points.
2nd Place: LA Riots III invitation & special guest appearance on [GTFO.tv] on Monday night at 10PM and +7 points.
3rd Place: +4 points
4th Place: +1 point
The points accumulated will be used for LA Riots IV Qualifiers in April, where one invite will be given to whoever has the most points that doesn’t already have a spot. This will come in handy if you got into LA Riots once and then got eliminated because you’ll still retain the points you’ve earned in the Qualifiers.
