Finally got a new show! Sorry for the delay, been working on a new project, it’s an e-book for 3rd Strike players transitioning to SF4. So be on the lookout for that. Anyways, good show today with Bobino, one of the top Rufus players out here. He made his name in Tekken so we talk a bit about how the two compare.
Topics discussed:
- Transitioning from Tekken to Street Fighter 4
- The benefits of double-tapping
- Rufus vs. Balrog
This is the match we reference in the show:
Also, thank you to D.S.H. for the awesome album artwork! If you would like to make one for the podcast, please make it 600×600 pixels and send it to gootecks (AT) gootecks (DOT) com.

Is it just me, or is the audio sped up…because both of you sound like you inhaled helium for some reason.
Did you download or stream it? I’m streaming it and it sounds fine. Anybody else having problems?
Nope not me.
No problems with sound on my end either…
Anyways, I put another pick together for the podcast if you wanna use another one of mine…also if its to hard to read I can redo it.

I love listening to your street fighter podcast, whether you talk about third strike or sf4. I’m trying to get into the third strike scene, but it looks like I sort of missed out on it by 6 or so years, plus I live in Boston (east coast) and it’s more or less dead here. I do enjoy listening from an outside perspective though, listening to the whole competitive gaming world is really interesting, and I always look forward to listening to this podcast. I would just like to thank you Gootecks, and keep up the great work!
@D.S.H
I love it, will be using it on episode #12. Thank you!
@imradioactive
Thank you for the kind words! SF4 is your second chance so make it happen!
yea, things are pretty dead where i am too. sf4 arcade is like 3 hrs away from me. i’m banking on sf4 being online viable, so there can be tons of competition.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a console I could play SF4 on, and the nearest arcade is an hour and 45 minutes from my house. I did, however, just order a brand new Hori ps2 stick. It cost me 150 bucks, but it’s made with samwa buttons and super responsive. It should help me with all my PS2 fighting game practice a bunch, hopefully.
Good listen! BOBINO!!!!!!
If I get my hands on the console version earlier than later, I’ll test the Balrog combo out vs Akuma.. lol!
NOW it works lol, my laptops sound is all messed up so I tried it on my PC. Glad you made the switch to Rog Gootecks, he was my main in ST and I’m really looking forward to him in 4.
Sweet! New podcast!
Btw, looking forward to the ebook Gootecks, sounds like a fuckin’ awesome project.
Again nice pod cast. Keep them coming !
Hey great podcast guys, just found your site today.
Right now i’m enjoying ( Street Fighter Podcast #10 – Bobino Talks Rufus Strategy).
Up here in Canada we have a few cabinets but there is only one cabinet in Toronto, and it’s a buck per play.
I’ve manage to get a few plays but driving almost 40 min to the only place by me sucks. So far the game is tight, great graphics and the game play reminds me of the old 91-93 days, with better graphics.

Keep up the good work!!
Howdy.
I’m a newbie to fighting games, and totally suck. But I’m enjoying playing Dhalsim at my local arcade… it’s like 2 minutes walk from my house, so sometimes I’ll drop in and play for an hour.
I listened to a bunch of the podcasts on here recently, and they’re really good. But I still don’t understand how double-tapping works. What is the benefit exactly??
Anyway, great podcast! Your interviews are very professional and interesting! I like how you just straight up ask people what their strategies are… it’s a good insight into how pro’s play!
