Here is the grand finals from this weekend’s SBO Qualifiers at Denjin Arcade. It’s Combofiend (C. Viper) and Alex Valle (Ryu) vs. Ed Ma (Akuma) and Ken I (Rufus). This was streamed live over the weekend on UFragTV with commentary by myself and Slasher from Live on 3 with djWHEAT. Hopefully should have the matches available for download soon, but for now, you can stream it. Enjoy after the jump…

ect-goldred2Here are the Top 8 Street Fighter 4 singles matches from East Coast Throwdown this past weekend courtesy of DarkSydePhil. Mike Ross and I had to play each other unfortunately, due to the way the brackets turned out.

Good games to him, sabin, and iloveu and congrats to Marn for winning! Marn, iloveu and sabin are all on the Northeast Evo 5v5 team so make sure you check these guys out because they are some of the East Coast’s finest. Also make sure you check out the matches with Fascinating, who is a relative newcomer to the competitive Street Fighter world and one of Chinatown Fair’s (NY) best players and got 3rd place.

Check out the vids after the jump!

ect-goldred2I’m finally back at home now from my extended stay in New York. Thanks again to Triforce, Justin Wong and Empire Arcadia for having me! It was a crazy trip that was topped off with a weekend in New Jersey for East Coast Throwdown.

DarkSydePhil took a lot of video so for those of you who weren’t watching the live stream last night, you’re in luck! Really glad to have footage from this event because there were some really amazing matches.

The winners of each of these matches go on to Top 8. For those wondering, Mike Ross was put into losers first round by Moose and I was put into losers third round (I think) by Dr. Chaos.

Videos after the jump.

Finally got a new show!  Sorry for the delay, been working on a new project, it’s an e-book for 3rd Strike players transitioning to SF4.  So be on the lookout for that.  Anyways, good show today with Bobino, one of the top Rufus players out here.  He made his name in Tekken so we talk a bit about how the two compare.

Topics discussed:

  • Transitioning from Tekken to Street Fighter 4
  • The benefits of double-tapping
  • Rufus vs. Balrog

This is the match we reference in the show:

Also, thank you to D.S.H. for the awesome album artwork! If you would like to make one for the podcast, please make it 600×600 pixels and send it to gootecks (AT) gootecks (DOT) com. :D
